We have to get a floating (raft) foundation put in due to the fact that there's a load of gravel beneath the site - so that's gonna cost good a few quid extra :(
The raft will have at least 2 foot of stone beneath it (more in the lower corner of the site) and then the steel goes in, and the concrete is poured on top of that.

And here' the garage - pretty much everything here is the foundations ! This is just to bring it up to the level of the entry road to the site:
